Book chat on 23rd September:
"Silent Spring" at literature festival
(24.07.2012) Rachel Carson's history-making book, "Silent Spring", will be debated at the Festival of Literature named "Kapittel" in Stavanger in September.
It was 50 years ago that the book was first published in the US, and the Norwegian edition followed the year after, bearing the title "Den tause våren". The festival of Literature "Kapittel", which is held in Stavanger every year, enthusiasticly accepted the idea to set up a "book chat" about Silent Spring at this year's event, to draw attention to Rachel Carson, the book and its important message, which is still today utmost relevant.
On Sunday, 23rd September at 4 p.m., a dialogue will take place between Ms. Tora Aasland, County Governor of Rogaland, Ms. Nina Jensen, CEO of WWF Norway, and Mr. Bernt Hagtvet, professor at the University of Oslo. The audience will be invited to voice their questions and views.
The exact venue in the city centre of Stavanger is to be confirmed later.
Please keep updated at the homepage of the Kapittel festival.
