RC Prize at International Conference
(12.05.2014) More than 100 laureates of environmental prizes from all over the world gathered at the 3rd International Convention of Environmental Laureates in Freiburg, Germany in April. The Rachel Carson Prize was also represented.
Marilyn Mehlmann, who was awarded the Rachel Carson Prize in 2011, participated at this network gathering for the second time, and she gave a lecture on her work with Global Action Plan International. Among the delegates were also Chair of the Board Gabriele Brennhaugen and Board member May-Lise Talgø, aiming at making new contacts and promoting the Rachel Carson Prize.
Some 40 environmental prizes were represented, and international capacities were among the laureates as well as the external speakers.
- It was really inspiring to have the opportunity to be among all these involved and strong personalities, who have all contributed to making a difference, says Gabriele Brennhaugen. - We appreciate very much that we were invited, and want to use this network to make our prize more known and to search for good candidates, she says.
